We have taken a deliberately cautious approach to returning to playing golf so that as many members as possible can take advantage of the course. However, I am sure we all want to return to playing 18 hole rounds as soon as possible, bearing in mind that it may be several weeks before anything more than 2 balls are allowed.

I am particularly thoughtful about the following issues and I’d like your views to help with deciding how we move forward:

1 Do we wait until the end of May, when the next PM update takes place, before we review moving away from playing 9 hole rounds?

2 If so, do we introduce more flexibility so that rounds can be continued if the 10th or 1st tee is free?

3 Should we differentiate between weekdays and weekends by allowing 18 holes on weekdays and 9 holes at the weekend?

4 Should we allocate reserved tees for key workers and those members who are not furloughed?

5 If so, do you have any personal knowledge of what the best times would be to allow these members to take advantage of a reserved allocation?

6 If we simply move to 18 holes as soon as possible, what restrictions, if any, should be placed on how many times members book in advance? In particular, how rigid should we be about members playing only once at weekends?

Please send me your feedback on these and any other relevant issues by email to alanbaileyfcib@outlook.com. We are looking to conduct an initial review of playing restrictions on Monday, 18th May so it would be helpful to have any feedback by Sunday evening.

Thank you,

Many thanks,

Alan
